TONY WAKEFORD
KIM LARSEN/OTWATM
SOLBLOT

Date: Saturday January 28 - 2017, doors open 8PM
Place: Christianshavns Beboerhus, Dronningensgade 34, 1420 Copenhagen K
Entrance: 100DKK
Map: Christianshavns Beboerhus, Dronningensgade 34

Café Grössenwahn and Bragagild present Tony Wakeford (Sol Invictus), Kim Larsen (Of The Wand And The Moon) and Solblot. The concert marks the release of the EP "Ghostly Whistlings" where four bands – Sol Invictus, Solblot, Sonne Hagal and Of the Wand and the Moon – each provide their interpretation of a story by MR James.

The 10” EP is limited to 250 copies in an art-edition gatefold and released by the new Norwegian label Café Grössenwahn Grammophon. The cover art was created by Fredrik Söderberg, who is also known for his cover art to some of the The Fenris Wolf magazines edited by Carl Abrahamsson.

The EP will of course be available for sale at the concert.

It is a bit nostalgic for Bragagild to present Tony Wakeford again, as Mr. Wakeford was the first to sign up for a concert presented by Bragagild 17 years ago where he played with his Trio Noir band. The evening also marked the debut concert of Of The Wand And The Moon. And to make the circle complete, the first ones to order tickets for that concert were a couple of young lads from Malmö who later formed Solblot.

The concert 28. January 2017 is the first formal cooperation between Café Grössenwahn and Bragagild, two groups of people who have been active on the cultural scene for decades, respectively in Copenhagen, Oslo and Bergen.

Tony Wakeford perform together with Renee Rosen on violin and in some parts also members of Solblot. An extended version of Solblot will have Kim Larsen on drums and other guests. Kim Larsen will perform solo in some parts of his set, and other parts as OTWATM joined by musicians from Solblot.

Entrance to the concert is 100dkk.

Preorder tickets: Send 105dkk to paypal account pay@bragagild.dk.

DUNE MESSIAH
TIDEBOUND
NISS STRICKER

Date: Friday October 21 - 2016, doors open 8PM
Place: Husets Bio, Rådhustræde 13, 1466 Copenhagen K
Entrance: 60DKK

DUNE MESSIAH
A danish neofolk project started by Magnus Westergaard (guitarist of the Copenhagen band The Woken Trees) in spring 2015. The name Dune Messiah was adopted from writer Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel series about the desolate planet Arrakis consisting entirely of sand.

Inspired by early Leonard Cohen, country post punk (such as The Gun Club and 16 Horsepower) and neofolk, Dune Messiah’s sound resonates with the same minimalistic, naked and rough aesthetics of the desert planet from the novel series.

For fans of the acts mentioned as well as fans of King Dude and Kiss the Anus of a Black Cat. Dune Messiah’s haunting first EP was released earlier this year through French label Third Comming Records.

TIDEBOUND
The psychedelic folk solo project of Dave Müller (known from funeral doom band Black Wreath and psychedelic drone collective Chasing Eudaimonia / The Eudaimonia Collective). Here, he plays songs of lost love and hope, distressful desolation, yearning for freedom and the acceptance of solitude; themes not uncommon to the folk genre, but the sometimes hazy vocals and the underlying psychedelic instrumentation give Tidebound a sound of its own. In other words: if Stephen Burch (The Great Park) and Townes Van Zandt went to the funeral of Jason Molina on their honeymoon and Aron was set to play at the wake, Tidebound would still be a psychedelic folk band from Copenhagen.

The melodic nature of the songs and introspective lyrics evoke feelings that range somewhere between melancholy and pessimistic hopefulness, impending doom or joyful reassurance of the possibility of finding salvation in the muddy waters of existence.

NISS STRICKER
Niss Stricker first appeared on the Danish psychedelic folk scene with the release of his first solo album in 2003 entitled "Fuglphoenixfjer". A modern troubadour, his concerts are equal parts storytelling and songs, somewhere between Nick Drake, The Incredible String Band and 70’s Danish folk.

He is active as a musician in and around Copenhagen, playing an assortment of stringed instruments ranging from the indian sitar over guitar to celtic harp. In 2009 Niss Stricker joined the band Lotus Krokus and has toured and recorded with them ever since. 2009 also saw the release of his second solo album "Under Himmelhavet", which was to condense musical ideas of fusing indian soundscapes with a more traditional nordic tone. Niss Stricker occassionally plays with other goups as well, such as The Digitaal Project, Thomas Mannsfeldt, Ulla Lindhart, Aupair Outrair amongst others.

His latest album, “Tinsoldatens rejsesang”, was released in 2014 and showed him, once again, as a unique voice in the Danish music scene.

STEVEN LEYBA & SAL WOLFSON

STEVEN LEYBA & SAL WOLFSON
A evening of spoken word, live painting and live music

In 2002, the Satanic Apache painter and priest Rev. Steven Johnson Leyba visited Copenhagen. Now he’s back, together with painter Sal Wolfson, to perform a ritual of live painting and spoken word.

Danish industrial project Slagskygge will play a show.

Rev. Steven Johnson Leyba is a ritualistic, shamanistic painter of Mescalero Apache ancestry. His art is equal parts satanic, holistic, radical, political, and extremely personal. Utilizing various media, Leyba creates a celebration of the sacred and profane, where paint mixes with collage, beadwork, and DNA from the artist’s own body.

Since 1989, Steven Leyba has produced 14 handmade books, huge volumes of bound works on canvas. Forms of these have been published by Last Gasp and Coyotel Press in books containing commentary by William S. Burroughs, H.R. Giger, Poppy Z. Brite, Clive Barker, and Genesis P-Orridge. He has been the subject of media attention for his controversial approach and subject matter, and in 2002 a documentary was made about the artist titled ‘Unspeakable: The Life & Art of Reverend Steven Johnson Leyba’.

His works are multi-media explorations into the souls of both individuals and society as a whole. They are liberating, honest, and organic in experience, void of any censorship and defiant against those who would attempt it. Look for his own documentary ‘What is Art? Inside the Mind of the Artist as They Speak the Truth.’

Leyba's artwork has been collected by Vincent Price, William S. Burroughs, Stephen King, Clive Barker, David Cronenberg, H.R. Giger, Cornell University, A.I.M. (American Indian Movement), Genesis P-Orridge, Lydia Lunch, and the Black Panther Party.

SLAGSKYGGE
When Rev. Leyba last visited Copenhagen, Danish industrial project Unveiled created music for the ritual performed, released on Bragagild as ‘Winter Songs’. Slagskygge, meaning Drop Shadow, is the natural continuation of Unveiled, playing a dark, dub-inspired industrial.

The shadows are dropping hard and thick; you can hate, fuck, dream, and dance to the music of Slagskygge.

Drawing inspiration from minimal dubstep, occult industrial and the sound of broken dreams in black metal, new lines are being drawn. The sound is massive, magickal and sexy; dangerous, ice-cold and beautiful.

The project consists of Danish electronic musician Hansen with various guests. Slagskygge has released one album, ‘The Quiet War, and has made a guest appearance on Danish folk band Kloster’s highly rated ‘Half Dream, Half Epiphany’. Two EP’s are forthcoming.

FRANKE & LCT
LCT is a part of the LFORSK collective of musicians, and have existed since 2002 with apperance under severel names, including Løs Forbindelse, Løst F and Ankhnon.

The style is harsch industrial noise and electronic rythm inspired by SPK and Throbbing Gristle. The upcomming concert will be the debut of a vocalist included in the line up, and the style hence added a more old school punk rock attitude.

WILLIAM BASINSKI
Sublime beauty and ghostly loops from American avant-garde composer William Basinski. Presented by Jazzhouse and Bragagild.

In spite of 58-year-old William Basinki’s roots as a composer in the tradition of American minimalism and avant-garde music, he’s an artist who reached far beyond narrow avant-garde confies.

He has fans among listeners of ambient, electronica, and artrock, and he has released albums on such seminal labels as Carsten Nicolai’s Raster-Noton and David Tibet’s Durtro label, along with releases on his own 2062 Records. He has collaborated with Antony Hegarty (Antony & the Johnsons), Current 93, and Robert Wilson on the opera ‘The Life and Death of Marina Abramovic’.

Basinski’s repetitive, haunted music has been compared to the work of both Steve Reich and Brian Eno, but Basinski is truly his own, having created a unique style through fragile piano loops, loops of crackling tape recordings, field recordings and radio static that awakens the ghosts of the past in a melancholy sound archaeology, both immensely beautiful and disconcerting.

The quadruple work ‘The Disintegration Loops I-IV’ is often considered the masterpiece of Basinski’s extensive discography. The four albums were collected in a box in 2012, garnering superlative reviews. Pitchforck named it best re-issue of the year and gave the extremely rare top grading 10/10, naming it a “sublime beauty”. And Basinski is an artist whose work is hard to let go when one has entered his world of wraith-like repetition. It’s no coincidence his music is ever-present on end of the year-lists everywhere.

SIMON FINN feat. BLOOD ON FEATHER
The british acid folk legend Simon Finn visits Copenhagen again, this time at the wonderful Jazzhouse. He will be joined by Danish/American duo Blood on a Feather.

Simon Finn’s concerts are known for being unusually intense and harrowing; a singer/songwriter who is equally at home in nightmarish visions and stark, forlorn ballads, inhabiting some of the same musical territory as Bill Fay, Syd Barrett, Pearls Before Swine, Leonard Cohen, and Nick Drake.

Drone/folk/psych duo Blood on a Feather has opened for artists such as A Silver Mt. Zion, Linda Perhacs, Vashti Bunyan and In Gowan Ring. They are one of the Danish scene’s best-kept secrets.

ANDREW KING

Date: Friday 13 October 2015, 7PM
Place: Husets Bio, Rådhustræde 13, 1466 København
Entrance: 90dkk

Bragagild proudly presents British folk singer and musician Andrew King for the first time in Denmark.

Andrew King is the foremost link between traditional folk music and the post-industrial take on folk music and a scholar of traditional folk song from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century. Unlike many others in the realm of neofolk and apocalyctic folk, King – having worked for institutions like English Folk Dance & Song Society and Sound Archive of the British Library – is firmly grounded in folk traditions. He combines tradition with inspiration from post-industrial music, incorporating dark ambient, field recordings, electro-acoustic music and a capella stylings in his dramatic and charismatic version of folk music for the apocalypse. King is an artist who keeps a tradition alive while seamlessly updating this tradition with modern elements.

He has released four solo albums since the debut on the legendary World Serpent label in 1998. His most recent solo album: Deus Ignotus, a dark and complex selection of traditional, medieval and own compositions which took 9 years to record was issued in 2011. It has received glowing reviews. King is working on his 5th solo album, The Proud Tower, a concept album on WWI. Apart from his solo work he is known for his work with such acts as Sol Invictus, Blood Axis, Duo Noir, KnifeLadder and Brown Sierra as well as his unique work as a painter.

King is a dramatic and charismatic perfomer; seeing him at such an intimate stage as Husets Biograf is a rare occasion.

Before Andrew King’s show, King will give a short talk about the phonograph recordings of traditional singers that the Folk-Song Society made between 1905-1915, with some examples as illustration, after which Huset’s cinema will show the film "Here’s a Health to the Barley Mow" a documentary that shows the living tradition of vernacular music making as it existed at the Blaxhall Ship, Suffolk, in the early 1950s. A unique event indeed!

AWEN
Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Awen is one of the most exciting new acts to emerge from the post-industrial/neofolk/experimental/martial scene in years.

Awen is a vehicle for the visions and baritone of Erin Powell with the participation and production of Per Nilsson, and the voice and percussive efforts of Katrin X. Wes Radvansky (also active in black metal act Krigsgrav) officially joined as guitarist in 2014 in time for the recording of Awen’s latest album, the excellent “Grim King of the Ghosts”, which was one of CVLTnation’s Top 6 neofolk releases of 2014. On this tour, Awen will be joined by Glenn Bailey on pipes.

The first Awen releases were released between 2006 and 2008 in highly limited CD-R editions. Since then, the band has risen to become one of the bigger acts within the scene. They have collaborated with artists such as Freya Aswynn (Fire+Ice, 6 Comm, Current 93 and others) B9 InVid (Luftwaffe, Et Nihil), and Gaya Donadio (AntiChildLeague) among others.

This is Awen’s first show in Denmark.

ET NIHIL
Chicago’s Et Nihil may be a relatively new act within the world of post-punk inspired apocalyptic folk/industrial, more menacing that most of the current, more romantically inclined neofolk scene.

However, mainman B9 InVid (vocals, guitar, electronics) is something of a veteran of the scene, having been one half of long running American luminaries Luftwaffe. B9 InVid is aided by percussionist Jonathan S. (also active in black metal band Vlk) and Wes Radvansky on bass.

They have released one ep, “Onus”, to favourable reviews in 2013 and a live triple split album together with Sonne Hagal and Awen in 2014.

Surely, a bright – or, rather, a dark, apocalyptic future awaits Et Nihil!

ELDAR:HWAR
New act from Copenhagen with Mikkel Andersen and Hildesvin, based on a mystical intrepetaion of the Malt runestone and older danish folklore and myths about the Eldertree.

Not long time ago, people in Copenhagen said that the eldertrees walked around at night. On occasions it killed people, if it didn't recieved proper offerings and respect. Mikkel Andersen has a background as musician and producer in Metal, Irish traditional folk, and North Indian music. As a teenager he constructed many of the rituals now used in the offical danish Asatru Society. This mythological and musical meltingpot, is a core in his compositions.

DAVID E. WILLIAMS
Chamber synthpop, dark and deranged torch songs, existential angst and demented, sleazy lyrics that would make John Waters feel uncomfortable: Such is the world of cult hero DAVID E. WILLIAMS.

Williams has released numerous recordings of his demented chamber pop for close to three decades, but he has also collaborated with other artists, such as Rozz Williams (Christian Death), Blood Axis (as touring keyboardist), Deathpile, Jerome Deppe, Naevus, Thomas Nola and Andrew King.

A long standing icon in the world of neofolk and, especially, beyond, David E. Williams continues to expand the boundaries of dark cabaret and neofolk in ways that perpetually leave him as the ultimate outsider of both genres. And Williams’ songs are songs for the outsider weirdo that hides deep within us all.

Williams is touring on the back, his 6th full length release, ’Trust No Scaffold Built of this Bone’. The new music ranges from finger-snapping ditties to chamber synthpop to his ever popular piano-driven art songs. The lyrics documents the violent dread of every moment, sung by a troubadour narrator whose delivery is deadpan in the extreme, with uniquely unsettling lyrics on the nexus of existential angst and cultural despair.

Purchase of all David E. William releases are available at iTunes Store.

RAT-ALARM
Rat-Alarm is a new 3-piece band from Denmark, playing alternative electronic and psychedelic punk inspired by bands such as Suicide, Cabaret Voltaire and Silver Apples. Their sound is both monotonous and atmospheric, and everything is played on old synths and rhythm boxes – NO computers.

Brian and Martin from the band are well known underground figures, having played together in a plethora of Danish underground acts for the past 20 years, among them black metal acts during the 90s, but the past 10 years mainly into experimental/electronic/noise acts such as LCT, Erwin Ewald, Captain Syphilis and MFJØRG. They are a circle of people who in different combinations have form a whole row of group and solo project, the promote these acts at LFORSK homepage and LFORSK youtube.

Martin is also known as MFJØRG, a pseudonym he uses for his painting and his horror dark ambient project. Brian's musicianship on both guitar and synthesizer is characterised by his anarchistic way of creating sound; a trademark he has kept and evolved throughout many years. 6COMM
The influental British post-punk/synth pop/experimental project 6comm will be playing in Denmark for the first time.

6comm was formed in 1986. Before that, 6comm’s only permanent member, Patrick Leagas, had been the drummer and partial songwriter and singer in the legendary neo-folk/post-punk band Death in June.

On this tour 6comm will focus on their early material, where they mixed melancholic synth pop and experimenting post-punk, as well as the songs Leagas wrote for Death in June.

The songs cover subjects such as the horrors of war, human barbarity and self-knowledge, working with an expressive electronic pop sensibility and an image taking inspiration from Norse mythology.

6comm has always been uncompromising in their expression and driven by an inner necessity, whether they have been working with cold and melancholic synth pop swapped in Leagas' unique baritone voice, anxious industrial or the more experimental songs. This has given 6comm status as a cult band, and granted Leagas an impact on the underground music scene and especially the neo-folk and industrial scenes.

Leagas has collaborated with groups such as Kirlian Camera, the pagan author Freya Aswynn, and performed under the name Mother Destruction, an electronic/tribal project, when he hasn't been busy traveling countries such as Western Sahara, the Horn of Africa, the northern areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan, either as an aid worker, soldier, film technician or as a photographer depicting war scenes.

We can promise that this will be an unique experience, when Patrick Leagas project visits Beta this spring.

HAND OF DUST
Hand of Dust is one of the best bands to emerge from the Copenhagen scene. Bleak, intense and poetic post-punk with dramtic and gothic elements.

Hand of Dust has released on Sean Ragon’s (Cult of Youth) label Blind Prophet Records, and Cult of Youth might be an apt comparison, though Hand of Dust are less folky.

SOL
SOL is a Danish doom metal band started by Emil Brahe in the early 00′s. He debuted in 2007 on Ván Records with the crushing funeral doom album Let There Be A Massacre and has since released numerous albums in a variety of styles on different labels. Often with a varying cast of collaborators.

While most SOL works have a common denominator in themes of fear, esotericism and destruction, they differ in the form they are presented in: From acoustic drones over dark reed organ atmospherics and occult folk music to the heavy crushing doom metal sound he somehow always returns to and invigorates with his open approach to dark musical expression.

DIE WEISSE ROSE
Formed in 2001, DIE WEISSE ROSE, was formed as a creative output for documenting various historical events, through what Wagner called "Gesamtkunstwerke" - a total work of art. Combining electronical elements, field recordings and real instruments through an optic that resembles a kaleidoscopical view of history.

May 2009 marked the formation of the long awaited and much anticipated debut album "A Martyrium of White Roses" which was finally released to highly critical international acclaim.

More than concerts, DIE WEISSE ROSE's performances should been seen as elaborate rituals, where element such as uniforms, burning torches, snippets of old schlagers, segments from documentary films and philosophical proclamations are carefully wowen together by orgies of electronic sounds, violins and accordion and drums like a military parade gone terribly astray.

A new album is in the works. For this night, band leader Thomas Bøjden will be joined by various guests.

M. LAMAR
M. Lamar writes songs that are at once a product of his African American heritage drawing heavily from the negro spiritual. Combined with his operatic voice and piano playing that is at once interested in western classical music and dissonant black metal Lamar’s sound makes one think that things are so catastrophic that the world might end at the conclusion of one of his tracks.

Lamar’s work has been presented internationally, most recently at WWDIS Fest Gothenburg and Stockholm, Stockholm Queer-Feminist Anti-Racist Performance Festival Stockholm Sweden, Performatorum Regina Canada, The International Theater Festival Donzdorf, Germany, Cathedral of St. John the Divine New York, and The African American Arts and Culture Complex San Francisco, Nacht Boulevard Potsdam Germany. CHANGES
Apocalyptic folk duo Changes, consisting of cousins Robert N. Taylor and Nicholas Tesluk, was originally formed in the summer of 1969 and can be seen as grandfathers of the apocalyptic folk scene.

Changes had a very good following in the Chicagoland area and performed at coffee shops (including one operated by the legendary cult The Process Church of the Final Judgment), universities and Renaissance Fairs until 1975, when Changes split up as the members moved to different states.

Flash forward to 1994, when Michael Moynihan (Blood Axis, author of the book Lords of Chaos) discovered the music of Changes through demo tapes that the duo had recorded in the early 70s. Michael, along Willi Stasch (Ernte), produced an album of Changes' early music entitled Fire of Life. It was an instant success in Europe and resurrected Changes for a new audience.

Since that time, they have recorded several albums, including Orphan in the Storm, Legends, the A Ripple in Time LP and Lament and have collaborated with several other artists, among them Andrew King, Allerseelen and Cadaverous Condition

Their songs are songs of apocalypse, love, and legends, their sound dominated by the magnificent twelve-string acoustic guitar playing of Nicholas Tesluk and the powerful vocals of both Robert Taylor and Nicholas Tesluk.

This their first ever show in Denmark.

Brian and Martin from the band are well known underground figures, having played together in a plethora of Danish underground acts for the past 20 years, among them black metal acts Blodfest and Luciation, experimental/electronic/noise acts such as Løst F, Simultaneous Bypass, Hangmen From The Moon and Fozfor.

Martin is also known as MFJØRG, a pseudonym he uses for his painting and his horror dark ambient project. Brian's musicianship on both guitar and synthesizer is characterised by his anarchistic way of creating sound; a trademark he has kept and evolved throughout many years. The vocalist, Søren, is well known in the alternative rock and theater scene in Copenhagen.

Rat-Alarm has a cassette-only release out on Posh Isolation Records as well as a promo. The promo is mastered by danish musician/composer/producer Peter Peter Schneidermann (Persona, The Bleeder Group, Sods, Valhalla Rising).

FIRE+ICE
Fire+Ice was founded by singer Ian Read in 1991, with Fire+Ice thus being one of the originators of the neofolk scene. Before that, Ian Read had several years as a member of Sol Invictus, while participating on recordings with bands such as Death In June. Musically, Fire+Ice is situated in a field encompassing traditional, solemn folk-music and folk-rock, with songs inspired by asatru, nordic mythology, medieval legends and other themes from ancient times.

Fire+Ice have released five studio albums and a bunch of assorted singles, live albums and videos while appearing on several compilation albums. The latest album, the brilliant "Birdking", was released to widespread acclaim in 2000. A new album is in the works. Ian Read is also a diligent writer in various magazines, his writing concerning issues as asatru and paganism.

A vinyl release of the 1996 Cd album "Rûna", will soon be available from French label Autre Que, for more info regarding this release and the Fire+Ice concert in Paris, please visit our page THE WÖRLD.

VURGART
Vurgart was founded in 2006 by Matthias K., as a solo project playing calm, acoustic instrumentalc folk. During the years that produced the two CD albums "Momente" (2006) and "Gedanken" (2008), the music took a more neofolk-oriented direction. A new release in the neofolk-vein is planned for release this year.

In 2009 he started to work with Sonne Hagal and Fire+Ice, including their concerts at WGT 2009. Having played several shows with Sonne Hagal throughout Europe, the first Vurgart solo-shows followed in late 2011 accompanying Death In June during their 30th Anniversary European Tour. Furthermore he joined the Austrian folk-band Jännerwein.

At Wave Gothic Treffen 2012 Vurgart played as a full band, accompanied by members of Sonne Hagal and Jännerwein. The concert in Copenhagen will be a solo concert with guests.

SOLBLOT
One of Sweden's finest, Solblot plays a brand of neofolk which is equal rooted in both a Forseti/Sonne Hagal-inspired neofolk, traditional Scandinavian folk, and Swedish progressive rock, with a slight touch of the experimental.

The songs are simple, melodic and catchy, with a punky edge. Their lyrics, sung in Swedish, are appropriated from the Nobel laureate and idealistic national romanticist Verner von Heidenstam. Nostalgic, romantic hymns of an idealised Sweden, which never existed except as a dream.

The band was formed in the south of Sweden during spring 2003. Their debut concert was at Bragagild-organised show n Copenhagen in 2005, together with Die Weisse Rose and Allerseelen. [concertposter]

Solblot is a band with a dedicated cult following, thanks to a few select and spectacular live performances. Their long awaited and highly anticipated first album was released on both CD and vinyl this year. At the concert in Copenhagen 3rd November, Solblot will also feature guests from :Of The Wand And The Moon:.

KING DUDE
While King Dude is essentially the brainchild of TJ Cowgill, he will play with a full band in Copenhagen. A former member of Teen Cthulhu, Cowgill is also active in the black metal bands Book of Black Earth and Cross, while also running the clothing brand Actual Pain.

King Dude plays dark pagan-fueled folk wrapped tight with outsider Americana steeped in themes of love, death and redemption. With a psychedelic, haunting, lonely and poetic sound, King Dude sings of Lucifer and other dark matters as were they a prophecy of some dark horror fiction.

King Dude draws influence from bands such as Death in June and Sol Invictus, but sews together a hybrid of true folk tradition alongside Woody Guthrie and Johnny Cash.

King Dude's cassette debut "My Beloved Ghost" (re-released as EP) carved the name of King Dude into the underground scene. After "My Beloved Ghost" King Dude has released two full length albums, the stark "Tonight's Special Death" plus the latest highly rated "Love", the 7" single "The Black Triangle" and a 7" split with Solanaceae, a band of Danish dark-folk-and-beyond luminaries artist Kim Larsen's (OTWATM).

:OF THE WAND AND THE MOON: – Solo acoustic set
Since 1999, Of The Wand And The Moon has released five albums and a bunch of singles, EP's and compilation tracks, thus creating a reputation as one of the world's leading neofolk/folk noir-acts.

The project's mastermind, Kim Larsen, plays psychedelic folk in Solonaceae and doom metal in Black Wreath as well. It's only the fourth live set with Larsen playing solo ever; in other words, a very rare and exclusive concert is about to happen. Of The Wand And The Moon plays romantic, gloomy, misanthropic and introspective folk noir of the best quality.

Of The Wand And The Moon is also playing (full line-up) at Roskilde Festival on the 6th of July and other concerts around Europe this summer.

IN GOWAN RING
In Gowan Ring is the brainchild of B'ee, a nomadic troubadour, singer/songwriter, and builder of instruments. In Gowan Ring has existed, with various guests, since the middle of the 90's, playing a richly ornamented psychedelic folk, thus pioneering the psychedelic folk revival of the 00's.

Since the beginning, In Gowan Ring has been playing a unique, baroque style, over time incoporating a simpler, song-oriented sound into their finely woven texture. Sometimes reminiscent of artists such as Pearls Before Swine, Incredible String Band, or The Legendary Pink Dots, yet In Gowan Ring remains one of the most distinct and original psychedelic folk bands around. In Gowan Ring have released four full-length albums. B'ee is also active as Birch Book, where he plays a more singer/songwriter-oriented folk, more simple with fewer layers of sound. As Birch Book, he has released three full-length albums.

Throughout his career, B'ee has been playing with a host of artists, including Maja Elliott (Current 93), Stone Breath, Nick Castro & the Young Elders, Faun, and many more. During this concert, In Gowan Ring will consist of B'ee playing with members of the highly respected Swedish progressive folk act Lisa O Piu, a band which has released two albums on the highly respected label Subliminal Sounds, as well as an album with acid folk legend Roger Wooton (Comus). They may play a few songs of their own as well!

Blood on a Feather (US/DK)
Blood on a Feather is a new collaboration between American Sarah Hepburn and Danish Mikkel Elzer. This duo travels the borders of floating, psychedelic folk and roughly woven drone music with haunting veils of vocals, swelling guitar noise and worn out tape loops.

Despite the project’s short existence, Blood on a Feather has been supporting British folk veterans like Simon Finn and Pantaleimon, and collaborating with American electronic sound guru John Levin when opening last year’s Festival of Endless Gratitude in Copenhagen. Furthermore, Hepburn and Elzer are part of such wide-ranging constellations as Kloster, Shiggajon, Mouths of the Irrawaddy, and Mechanical Bird ect.

BLOOD AXIS
The concept for the musical project Blood Axis was initially created in the early 1990s by the musician, artist, and writer Michael Moynihan. He is joined in Blood Axis by ongoing artistic collaborators, guitarist and recording engineer Robert Ferbrache, and Annabel Lee, an accomplished violin player and artist. Other artists have also contributed to the project over the course of its existence.

The first Blood Axis album, The Gospel of Inhumanity (1996), was recorded by Moynihan and Ferbrache in 1995 and its somber, elegant tones and conceptual richness attracted considerable attention in underground art and music scenes in Europe and the United States. While this album continues to influence numerous bands who have imitated its sound and style, Blood Axis has long since evolved in new directions. Annabel Lee began working with the group in 1996.

In 1997 Blood Axis performed at a prestigious event marking the 10th anniversary celebration of the Swedish industrial label Cold Meat Industry. The resulting recording became the basis for the 1998 album Blót: Sacrifice in Sweden, which at the time was the first release by a non-Scandinavian band on the CMI label. Blood Axis has given occasional live performances over the years. These have included sporadic events in the USA in 1992 and 1998, a European tour in 1998, special concerts in Portugal in 2001 and 2008, and a small tour of Germany and Italy in 2005.

In 2010 the second full−length Blood Axis studio recording, Born Again, was released to overall acclaim among both reviewers and fans old and new. While this new album retains certain echoes of the earlier sounds of Blood Axis, it defies easy categorization and represents a bold development in many respects.

This is the first appearance ever by Blood Axis in Copenhagen, and the set at this concert will include new and old material.

Vinyl editions of THE GOSPEL OF INHUMANITY and BORN AGAIN will be available for sale. ULTIMACY, a giant compilation of Blood Axis singles will available as well.

The line−up at this concert will be: Michael Moynihan, Annabel Lee, Robert Ferbrache, David E. Williams (keyboards), Aaron Garland (bass), and John Murphy (percussion). Members of Blood Axis on this tour have also worked with people and bands such as 16 Horsepower, Alraune, Amber Asylum, The Associates, Backworld, Birch Book, Club Moral, Cotton Ferox, Coup de Grâce, Current 93, Douglas P./Death in June, The Electric Hellfire Club, Ernte, Fire + Ice, Human Head Transplant, In Gowan Ring, Les Joyaux de la Princesse, Richard Kern, The Lindbergh Baby, Nico, Boyd Rice/NON, Rozz Williams, Sangre Cavallum, Slim Cessna's Auto Club, Soul Merchants, SPK, Steve von Till, Tarantella, The The, Trance, Verdandi, The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black, Waldteufel, Witch−Hunt, Woven Hand.

DAVID E. WILLIAMS
At the concert in Copenhagen, David E. Williams will be joined onstage by Jane Elizabeth of Tesco as backing vocal. This "Lee and Nancy of new millennium" concert in Copenhagen is the only David E. Williams concert in europe in 2011, thou he does participate as a member of the band at all Blood Axis concerts in europe 2011.

Though he's dabbled in neo-Weimar cabaret, abrasive electronics and even film scores, David E. Williams of Phillidelphia, United States of America is best known for electro-symphonic pop and a lyrical humor so dark that it's not really funny. Some might call it gallows humor, but "gas chamber humor" is a bit more accurate for his love songs rife with murder, abuse and obscure references to eating.

Beyond his solo work, he has collaborated with a diverse spectrum of underground luminaries that includes Bleiburg (martial ambient), Deathpile (power electronics), Naevus (post punk / folk noir), Nazi UFO Commander (Neuschwabender trance), Thomas Nola (decadent music hall) and, most famously, Rozz Williams, the former Christian Death lead singer for whom Williams arranged and produced the posthumous live CD Accept the Gift of Sin.

Purchase of all David E. William releases are available at iTunes Store.

DIE WEISSE ROSE
These performances are elaborate rituals, kaleidoscopic (or even psychedelic) experiences. Elements such as uniforms, burning torches, snippets of old schlägers, segments from documentary films and philosophical proclamations are wowen together by orgies of live drums and electronic sounds.

Die Weisse Rose strives towards what Wagner called "Gesamtkunstwerke" − total works of art. When most other bands talk about Gesamtkunstwerke, it sounds pretentious. When Die Weisse Rose do it, it makes sense.

Die Weisse Rose also like to think of their songs as "audiodocumentaries". Again, such a seemingly pretentious term makes sense, as Die Weisse Rose's art is just as indebted to the History Channel as to Throbbing Gristle.

To bolster Die Weisse Rose's lineup (which really consists only of the band's mastermind, Thomas Bøjden) over the years the unit has recruited collaborators to its ranks that makes DWR smack of an Industrial supergroup. From Marco Deplano (Foresta di Ferro), Gerhard (Allerseelen), Kim Larsen (Of the Wand and the Moon) to name but a few.

In return, Thomas Bøjden has returned the favour and played with a who's who of of the Industrial and Neofolk underground, from well-established outfits like Rome, Blood Axis and Foresta Di Ferro to up-and-coming Austrian neofolk band Klammheim.

Die Weisse Rose are available on record with a realse on Cold Meat Industry, and also participate at the new Allerseelenlieder Compilation.

If you fear that we have another "martial" clone band on our hands, prepare to be pleasantly surprised. The music is painstakingly crafted and orchestrated to perfection to include electronic elements, field recordings and real instruments, and its creative merits really stand out in an underground culture where bands of far lesser talents than Die Weisse Rose would release three albums in the time Die Weisse Rose have patiently worked on theirs.
